Percentage of Infants Born at a Low Birth Weight
Percent low birth weight equals the percentage of all infants delivered that weigh less than 2,500 grams per specified group. Data is based on 100 percent of birth certificates filed in the U.S. each year. 2010 data are preliminary; based on approximately 100% of all 2010 U.S. births.
Exclusion Criteria: Records for which birth weight are unknown are excluded (<1% of all records for each year).
